Message behind our products
Japan Star’s president, Mr. Ikeda, decided to break out on his own and start his own company from a desire to help solve the water problems facing the world by using original technology and the experience in water and manufacturing he had accumulated over many years of research. Japan Star was established in May 2008 with the aim to become a company where employees take pride in their work and have a sense of purpose through achieving positive acclaim on the market developing products using in-house original technology and growing brand awareness.
Founded in Higashi-Osaka, home to many of Japan's leading manufacturing companies, Japan Star started out based in Creation Core Higashi-Osaka, an incubation facility for research and development SMEs.
Japan Star’s goal was to solve the world's water problems, but first started by developing a shower head using in-house original technology, and then proceeded to develop nanobubble technology (international patent) that produces what is known as nanobubble water.
Japan Star was strong in the field of product development from the get go, but was new to b-to-c business, and was almost fumbling in the dark to establish sales pipes through hosting booths at exhibitions and making direct sales visits etc. Uncertainty on the business side of things continued for a while, but as Japan Star took the opinions and complaints of customers and user’s of the products as valuable words of encouragement, which then served as a driving factor to strive for improvement on a daily basis.
Choosing a shape, functionality, color, size, etc. desirable to everyone and producing something that results in happy customers required patience and a lot of time. However, over time Japan Star gradually gained customer trust, and the nanobubble technology showerhead is now recognized as a genuine product.
Thanks to widespread customer support, Japan Star’s products are now available for purchase in a number of ways, such as teleshopping, online, at major supermarkets, through barbers and beauty salons, and also from famous cosmetics manufacturers.
Japan Star will continue to further research and develop high-performance shower heads that bring a considerable level of added value to the consumer and will continue to strive to create a product that everyone would look forward to using every day.
That being said, Japan Star’s original nanobubble technology can be applied to various industrial fields, and Japan Star intends to continue developing new products in Japan while engaging in two-way communication with consumers.
Saving the world with water
While maintaining and expanding in the domestic market, Japan Star will also take on the challenge of expanding overseas in search of new markets in the future.
At the core of Japan Star’s business is water. And around the world, there are 10 billion people who cannot access safe drinking water.
Nearly 10 years ago, Japan Star had the opportunity to accompany the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Federation of Economic Organizations on visits to China, India, and Southeast Asia.
During those visits Japan Star’s straw-shaped water purifier attracted a lot of attention.
However, when market research suggested that locals would only be able to afford it at 4 yen (0.03 US dollars) a piece, the initiative was set aside. However, despite the cost issues, in the past Japan Star has donated part of its profits to provide safe drinking water in India.
Even today this cost issue remains one we cannot solve immediately. However, we strive to make our mission of working to solve the water problems facing the world concrete in the near future and provide access to safe drinking water to as many people as possible.
Japan Star also hopes to grow to be one of Japan’s most renowned companies.
